water mouse sensor alerts homeowners to sump pump failures.

castlewall security and video just installed another alarm system in a customers home, but with a twist. one special feature they requested (and we happily provided) was a water mouse. the water mouse is a sensor that is placed near the sump pit that will become activated in case there is a sump pump failure. should there be a failure, leaked water on the floor will trigger the mouse and set off an alarm.

in this case, the homeowner moved into the home and didn't realize that the water line to the ice maker was not properly secured. needless to say it started to leak behind the refrigerator and eventually worked its way down into the basement. luckily the refrigerator was placed over the area of the basement that had the sump pit in it! the water seeped down and made its way across the floor to the area with the mouse. the homeowner called and said, had it not gone off, it would have been weeks before he would have even known there was a leak and there would have been mold everywhere! needless to say he was very grateful that he purchased this additional feature from us!!! another home saved!!!
